About me

Welcome to Awesome Paws!

My name's Marlene and I'm excited for the opportunity to become your best friend's, second best friend!

I've recently relocated to San Diego from the dog loving city of San Francisco, CA. In San Francisco, I worked as a professional certified dog walker. My other experience includes owning, boarding, and spoiling pups over the past decade.

My background includes walking off and on leash packs, solo walks, dog park group play, pet transportation and pet boarding. I'm also a dog owner (he's my handsome 14 year old mini schnauzer), dog lover, and let me tell you...I LOVE my job!

I look forward to having you and your doggy be a part of Team Awesome Paws!

Testimonials

"My corgi Momo has severe separation anxiety, but Marlene is able to bring so much joy to Momo’s life when I’m away. It’s like Momo is on a vacation, eager to join Marlene and torn when it’s time to come home. I received picture updates during their walks and she’s just having a blast. It’s comforting to know she’s in caring hands."

"Marlene is absolutely fantastic! I won't just leave my pup with anyone, and I am very particular when I find myself in need of a walker or sitter. I make sure to do a lot of research beforehand. Marlene had a lot of great references and feedback, so I felt comfortable setting up a meeting. Moo and Marlene became fast friends and there is no one I'd rather leave her with when I am in need of a dog walker or pet sitter. She's the best!"

"Marlene has been walking our beloved cockapoo Jim Morrison for about 2 or more years now. He’s a rescue so pretty reserved, and is also unforgivably spoiled. To say that Marlene handles him well is an understatement. She was a new walker for him - and was incredibly patient and kind with him from the start, which won him over right away.

He’s a lazy little dude, and every morning, she has to first find him as he’s usually lounging somewhere in the house. Then he turns over for a belly scratch and she picks him up so he can give her kisses and carries him out. It’s the sweetest thing, and really kind of her, as she’s always on a schedule, but is never anything other than loving to him and so patient.

I am SO sad she’s leaving us - and I don’t know what Morrie will do, as he waits for her every morning - but I can say, anyone who had her walking their dogs will love her, and be very lucky!"
